Neodymium ProductionProduction
At rare earth elements fractionation neodymium is concentrated with light lanthanides and may be extracted with praseodymium, in mixture of praseodymium (III) and neodymium (III) which is called didymium. Neodymium metal is electrolyzed from anhydrous halogenides fusion. The electrolysis of NdF3 or NdCl3 fusion with additives of halogenides lithium, potassium, calcium and barium is processed by 1000°C and cathode current density 4.7 Amp/sm2 with graphite cathode.
